Karanka: Morata ideal for Premier League
Former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka believes that Manchester United target Alvaro Morata has all the qualities that will make him successful in the English top-flight.
Karanka, who twice served on the coaching staff of teams featuring the Real Madrid forward, says that the player's class was evident at a very young age and that he is certain to make a big impression on the Premier League.
"Alvaro fits anywhere," the former Athletic Bilbao defender told Cadena Ser.
"We knew since he was with us at the age of 19 and I have known him since he was 17 because he came to the Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria," he continued, referring respectively to his spells as Jose Mourinho's assistant at Real Madrid and the Spain under-17 manager.
"Alvaro is the classic player that can fit anywhere. He has everything. For this [Premier League] football, he is a spectacular player. The time he spent at Juventus was great for him to mature," the 43-year old added.
Morata, who was brought back to the Bernabeu from Juventus Stadium when Real Madrid activated a €30m buyback clause in his contract, has been impressive for the La Liga and Champions League winners despite being given few opportunities by coach Zinedine Zidane.
The 24-year old Spain international scored 15 goals and provided five assists in Los Blancos' 2016/17 La Liga campaign, an impressive figure considering the tally was achieved in only 14 starts and 26 appearances in total.
